OVEOUS & QVLN continue to deliver sonic magic for the pioneering Hyper Ancestral album, piece by piece. This album release is a new concept that we call an In-Progress album. The idea is that once a year the duo releases One or Two tracks from this album until project is complete. At some point fans will be able to piece together all the hand carved mask artwork from Zarco Guerrero into an album cover book along with all the tracks from the album. But for this In-Progress album; Patience is the key to creating this future masterpiece.

This new release delivers Two Afro House bangers titled NE WA TE & TE WA NE. QVLN & OVEOUS have been heavily inspired by the Mayans of the Mexican Yucatan and Guatemalan San Marcos Lake Atitlán region. They've been drawing inspiration from the ancestral culture of this region and merging it with their touch of soul and jazz perspectives along with afro rhythmic drum beats and percussion. Make no mistake tho, the star of the show here is the sick mesmerizing bass line that pushes the groove on both of these tracks.

NE WA TE and TE WA NE are both releases that are sung in 3 different languages: Spanish, Nahuatl and Mayan which are widely spoken languages indigenous to central America. Indeed it was in the village of Tulum, Mexico where OVEOUS & QVLN created this spiritual roots collaboration that incorporates an ancient Mexica/Nahuatl proverb " Ne Wa Te, Te Wa Ne" which translates to " I am your other you, you are my other me".

So far the Hyper Ancestral project includes tracks: QUEIMAR, DE CACHE, MAGIA, & now NE WA TE and TE WA NE. Enjoy!
